Virtual – Nature Therapy –Explore the Gifts of Nature Forest and nature therapy, often called Forest Bathing is an ancient Japanese practise known as Shinrin-Yoku. This practice helps us reconnect to our place among all things. In a time when our lives are overwhelming and over stimulating this subtle practise grounds us and brings us to a place of balance and connection. Participants are guided through experiential activities and gentle explorations in nature facilitating deep restorative nourishment and connection to all the non-human elements. We will cultivate the practice of stillness as we focus our attention within ourselves and the natural environment around us. While immersed in nature we slow down, tune into our senses and allow for deep connection, introspection, reflection and sharing. Nature gifts us a thorough cleansing of mind, body and soul. This works well as a virtual activity. Access to nature or garden can even be through a window. Chairs for seating. If a garden is not available then we can bring the forest indoors for our circle. This works well in inclement weather as well.

And, in more recent centuries, visitors from all around the world have traveled up and down the Nile, visiting the grand remains at Giza, exploring the rock cut tombs on Luxor’s West Bank, and gazed in awe at Tutankhamun’s famous golden mask in the Egyptian Museum. In this lecture, we will explore the Giza plateau and its pyramids, sail upstream to Luxor and the Valley of the Kings and the workers to learn how craftspeople and commoners once lived. We will even take a sacred pilgrimage to Abydos to visit the great Temple of Seti I and finish with a visit to Denderah, one of Egypt’s best preserved temples. You will marvel at what these monuments look like millenniums after their construction, and also consider the current challenges and opportunities faced these ancient wonders. Hop aboard our felucca, friends, as we sail the Nile, which Herodotus claimed was Egypt’s great gift.
